BUDDY UP NOW AND SAVE ON YOUR MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL EXTENDED TO THE END OF AUGUST
Now is the time to renew your MATA membership. We are looking to increase the number of people in MATA. To help facilitate this we are running a great deal for renewing members who bring back a "lost" member who has been gone from MATA for a year or who brings in a new member. You can get $5.00 off your renewal fee and so can the buddy you bring into MATA. Hurry the "sale" ends on August 31st. After that membership fees will go back up to the usual $35.00 for renewing and new members. Student art educators can always join for less. Click here for a copy of the form.

REUSS EXHIBIT COMING SOON Aug. 28-Oct. 9
The time is fast approaching for us to mount our (annual, now) art exhibit at the Reuss Federal Building at 4th and Wisconsin Ave in downtown Milwaukee. This space and time has been provided to us the last few years free of charge. The space is quite large, and we encourage you to plan on exhibiting larger scale (at least 30x36", since smaller work gets "swallowed up" by the high ceilings and expansive space) work that can be hung on the wall. It is a public lobby with 24 hr. federal security and is used daily by many federal employees (including staff of some well-known politicians!) We ask that you keep this in mind when considering the subject matter you choose to exhibit. Beyond that, there is no jurying process and no entry fee. We have a group who has volunteered to make labels and signage, and to publicize the show. We will be counting on you to hang your own work, which goes quite quickly once all work has arrived; there is an easily adjustable cable-and-hook system already in place. Once you let us know what you'd like to show, make plans to deliver and hang your work on Saturday, Aug. 28 at 8:30am (you'll get a reminder from one of us). We look forward to seeing this show come together again. It's always been well received, and this year promises to be no different. I look forward to seeing some of your summer experimentations! THE LUNCHEON ON THE GRASS EVENT WAS A LOT OF FUN
If you missed the Luncheon On the Grass event you missed a great time. There was such wonderful camaraderie amongst the 20 or so members who participated.
